Abby J's Story
Abby Jackson, aka Abby J grew up on a farm in North Georgia where she was mentored by her grandmother in the kitchen at a very young age. This mentoring gave her the best 'Field to Fork" opportunity to learn all about cooking, farming and food. Abby J's favorite place on the farm was the kitchen which allowed her the ability to express her creativity and create flavors to make great dishes and award winning gourmet products. She finished college and worked as a National Sales Manager for a company in New York for many years but she knew her passion was food, cooking, and developing recipes.
Her and her husband John Jackson opened Blackhawk Flyfishing in 1996 and she has had the privilege to cook for people from all over the world for 20 years and continues to do so.
With the passion for creating new flavors she created her on gourmet line in 2011, Abby J’s Gourmet, which her “Field to Fork” Sweet Fire Pickles won the "Flavor of Georgia" in 2016. She is also a celebrity chef for the "Ingles Table". She authored her first cookbook in 2015, "Abby J’s Farmstyle Living Cookbook" and she previously was the Co-Founder of Southern Farm & Garden Magazine for 3 years. She enjoys being a part of Georgia Grown and hosting her very own cooking show with Windstream “Field to Fork” Cooking with Abby J & she is also the host for "What's In Season" for Ingles Markets! It’s all about the flavor when you cook with Abby J.
