Abby J's Cabbage Soup

Abby J's Cabbage Soup
Prep time: 20 min.
Servings 4 to 6

Ingredients:

1 head of fresh cabbage, chopped (6 cups)
3 carrots, sliced
3 celery stalks, diced
1 onion, diced
1 -14 oz. diced tomatoes (optional)
4 potatoes-cubed
8 cups chicken broth
2 cups cooked chicken, cubed
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup Abby J's Smoking Hot Sauce
Dash salt, pepper and a pinch of red pepper flakes for garnish

Instructions:

1. Heat a large pot over medium heat and sauté onion, garlic, and celery until softened.
2. Add the chopped cabbage, potatoes, diced tomatoes, hot sauce, and broth.
3. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat before adding chicken.
5. Simmer for 30 minutes, or until vegetables are tender.
6. Serve hot with Sour Dough Bread and garnish with herbs.
